Year of the Fire Horse 4724

Year of the Fire Horse
Feb 17, 2026 – February 5, 2027

Year of the Fire Horse
Chinese astrology combines 12 animal signs with five elements: Water, Wood, Fire, Earth, and Metal. Each pairing occurs only once every 60 years. The Horse is associated with strength and dynamism, and aligns in 2026 with the element of Fire, representing powerful yang energy. Since the Horse’s intrinsic elemental branch is also Fire, the coming year is described by experts as a phase of double Fire that may accelerate transformation across politics, technology, and social movements. This year will intensify traits like passion, ambition, and independence, and symbolize bold transformation and fiery energy.

This year also means there may be significant events or changes to the world. It could even mark a historic turning point or defining moment in history. The challenges that arise may signal the beginning of new opportunities or the onset of a crisis. A period of significant global shifts, both chaotic and progressive, similar to the past Fire Horse year 60 years ago. (Google what happened in 1966.) Personally, this is a time to take the reins of your life, chase dreams, and embrace unconventional paths; trust your instincts.

Here are some other themes we may see this year

  • Major technological leaps, especially in AI, and breakthroughs in medicine.
  • This is a year for decisive action, pursuing ambitions, and embracing change; the energy is fast-paced and unstoppable.
  • The Fire element amplifies the Horse’s natural traits, leading to high emotional energy, creativity, and a drive for success.
  • Old habits and structures can quickly disappear, clearing the way for what feels authentic and true, but also stirring unrest

While the Year of the Wood Snake was about shedding things that no longer work in our lives or have been holding us back, the 2026 Year of the Fire Horse is about having the courage to take the necessary risks that give us the freedom to enjoy our lives to the fullest.

According to Flying Star Feng Shui, we are now in what is known as “Period 9”, the final 20-year phase of a 180-year elemental energy cycle. “Period 9” is linked to – yes, you guessed it – Fire. This period, which runs from 2024 to 2043, signifies both destruction and creation. The transition to Period 9 influenced all of our Feng Shui charts. So if yours was done before 2024, it probably needs updating.

Three Chinese zodiac signs are basically the chosen ones in 2026

animal charms

  • The Ram is the best friend of the Horse, and carrying a 3-dimensional Ram is considered good luck because the Horse is elated to seeing its BFF.
  • The Tiger and Dog are in 3 Harmony with the Horse and also considered auspicious.
  • The Rat and Ox, which are opposed to the Horse and Ram, should carry a 3-dimensional Tiger and Dog for protection.
  • Contact me if you would like to purchase one for $15 (includes tax and shipping).

Prior to the Lunar New Year

  • It is a good idea for all of us to ‘clear house’ both physically and metaphorically.
  • In other words, clean up outstanding debts, issues, and generally complete things before the Lunar New Year.
  • The Chinese literally sweep their homes clean, taking out all the bad karma from the year.
  • All signs will do well to perform the ‘Golden Cicada Sheds Its Shell’ ritual to complete the past year and start the new one. This is particularly important for the Ox and the Rat for their protection. If you are not familiar with these rituals, please be in touch, and we can discuss what is involved.
  • Another new year ritual you can ask me about is ‘Changing the Chi of the Environment.’
  • A space clearing ritual is ideal for both completing the energy of the previous year and opening up to the potential of the new one.

Insights for the 12 Chinese Zodiac Animals in the Year the Fire Horse:

Each zodiac animal has its own qualities that are consistent year to year, yet every sign will be influenced by the Fire Horse’s energy this year. Fortunes can be reduced or enhanced with Feng Shui, rituals, meditations, and transcendental adjustments.

Additionally, all people have their own karma to consider. While 2026 ushers in fresh opportunities, it also presents challenges that vary depending on each sign’s compatibility with the Horse’s energy.

The following forecasts are of a general nature – so depending on which type of elemental zodiac sign you were born under, your luck will vary due to your individual luck cycle. My sources are wide and varied, and I would like to give special acknowledgment to Khadro Crystal Chu Rinpoche, whose yearly predictions I follow closely.

Year of the Rat

RAT – 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008, 2020

Rats are charming creatures with a large dose of intelligence. They are independent and have a sharp eye for detail. Rats are warm-hearted and opportunistic and, at times, stubborn perfectionists. Yet, Rats also have a great ability to be adaptive problem solvers. The Rat has great affinity with the Ox, Dragon, and Monkey.

People born in the Year of the Rat are poised to face a challenging year in 2026 because they are in direct conflict with the year god. For those born under the sign of the Rat, 2026’s Year of the Fire Horse may bring moments of unpredictability. Finances, projects, or agreements could shift quickly, so move steadily rather than rushing ahead. Use this year to review, reorganize, and strengthen what’s already working. By staying practical and grounded, you’ll navigate the Fire Horse’s fiery energy with calm confidence. Focus on balance and clarity to make steady progress throughout the year. It is not an advisable year to marry, start a business, relocate, or begin a new project this year.

Year of the Ox

OX – 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009, 2021

The Ox is dependable, earnest, and conservative. They work logically and hard to accomplish their goals. Oxen generally don’t form many close relationships but are reliable, loving partners. They’re logical, yet sometimes display tempers.

People born in the Year of the Ox may have a challenging year in 2026. Although not directly opposing the year god like the Rat, the Ox is still in an offensive position. Career and finances show little improvement and may even slip if they become careless or overly confident. They will need persistence and caution to avoid setbacks and protect themselves from potential troublemakers. Flexibility brings unexpected rewards, even if it feels uncomfortable at first. Stay organized, trust your persistence, and keep an open mind. With patience and focus, you’ll turn challenges into opportunities. In dealing with others, remain calm and grateful, cultivate kind thoughts and actions. As the saying goes, ‘One good deed can ward off a thousand evils.’

Year of the Tiger

TIGER – 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010, 2022

The wonderfully intense vitality of the Tiger makes them both passionate and optimistic. Tigers can easily sway a crowd, but it’s best if they avoid extremes. They are born leaders yet need to listen as much as take charge. Tigers will fight for their own rights and for the rights of those they love. The most compatible signs for the Tiger are the Pig, Dog, and Horse.

2026 is expected to be a turning point for people born in the Year of the Tiger, following a year full of hardship. The Year of the Fire Horse forms a harmonious trio with the Tiger, Dog, and Horse. As a result, financial prospects are favorable, and ambitions can be realized. Generally, Tigers will enjoy favorable luck, with smooth progress in work and daily life. Be mindful of the fiery pace of the year and balance actions with rest and self-care. There is a ‘Traveling Horse Star’ in your chart which indicates frequent travel for both work and pleasure. Stay centered and intentional, and you’ll make powerful strides in both career and personal goals. Additionally, the ‘Red Matchmaker Star’ makes this a particularly good year for female Tigers to marry.

Year of the Rabbit

RABBIT – 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011, 2023

Rabbits are kind, graceful, and sensitive yet sometimes overly sensitive to criticism. They have good judgment in business and in general. Although Rabbits are good providers for their family, they are not particularly family-oriented. The best partners for the Rabbit are the Rams, Dogs, and Pigs.

2026 is likely to be an unfavorable year for those born in the Year of the Rabbit because they are positioned at 90 degrees to the year god. Their career may be stable but issues may arise in relationships, social interactions, and business partnerships. Fortunately, the presence of the lucky stars of ‘Heavenly Happiness’ and ‘Heavenly Virtue’ together with the help of benefactors turns the tides from misfortune into good fortune. The Fire Horse’s energy moves faster than you’d like, so take things slowly and listen to your intuition. You’ll have plenty of chances to connect, collaborate, and grow, but clarity and boundaries are essential. Excessive worry and overthinking may affect your physical and mental health, yet with calm focus this year helps turn your quiet plans into lasting success and stability.

year of the dragon

DRAGON – 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012, 2024

The intelligent, energetic Dragon has high standards for themselves and others. When they are not too demanding, they have the potential to accomplish great things. Dragons don’t accept defeat easily and will come to your rescue when in need. Your most compatible signs are the Monkey, Rat, and Snake.

Dragons will be seeing strong potential for significant growth this year. The Fire Horse challenges Dragons to refine your goals, release old patterns, and rebuild stronger foundations. Career and/or personal challenges may unfold, but each one moves you closer to long-term success. Your natural confidence, combined with patience and adaptability, ensures you rise above any uncertainty. However, there are some ominous stars, so guard your health and refrain from acting on impulse or getting into conflicts.

Wood Snake, year of the: 4723

SNAKE – 1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013, 2025

The Snake is known for its passion, talents, tenacity and is fortunate in having most of its needs met. They are always planning and are quite alert and observant. The best partners for Snakes are the Ox, Rooster and Dragon.

In 2026, people born in the Year of the Snake will move past any of the previous year’s misfortunes. Their outlook will be more positive and stable without the uncertainty seen in previous years. Favorable financial prospects, romantic luck for female Snakes, and careers should proceed smoothly, and you will encounter helpful people along the path. While the Fire Horse stirs external changes, your power lies in stillness and strategy. Take time to pause before acting and let intuition guide your decisions. Focus on well-being, rest, and balance so that emotional clarity can be your greatest ally. Taking good care of your health this year with diet, exercise, and rest is most important to prevent any challenges to your well-being. Simplify commitments and release what no longer serves you.

Year of the Fire Horse

HORSE – 1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014, 2026

The Horse is a social, optimistic, and non-conforming animal. Their changeable nature needs plenty of stimulation. Happiness is more of a motivation than wealth or fame. They can anger quickly but are just as quick to forgive and forget. The Horse is most compatible with the Tiger, Dog, and Ram.

For those born in the Year of the Horse, this year is marked by sitting in the seat of the year god, bringing both great opportunities and significant challenges. There is a Chinese saying: “When sitting right above Year God’s head, even without disaster, trouble may arise.” This applies to each of us when we are in our own year. In other words, this year cannot be considered truly auspicious. You are likely to encounter frequent setbacks and disruptions across work, relationships, and health. You will need to confront difficulties and build greater resilience. The good news is that there are some lucky stars that help resolve certain misfortunes, instability, discord in relationships, emotional ups and downs, and obstacles in your career.

Year of the Ram

RAM – 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2015, 2027

The Ram (sometimes referred to as a Goat or Sheep) is a sensitive, good-natured, and creative animal. The good seminarian of the zodiac, yet they can also be uncommunicative. They persevere through difficulties, having high tolerance and motivation. Rams can pursue with confidence any career that uses their artistic skills or their love of caring for others. The Ram’s best friend is the Horse and is in 3 Harmony with the Rabbit and Pig.

The Chinese saying, “‘Ram and Horse together bring great auspiciousness.” Rams can expect luck and achievements across most areas of life. Yet, alongside career and relationship opportunities, challenges will also arise throughout the year. With confidence and determination, they can accomplish significant goals and receive strong support from allies and mentors. You’ll feel appreciated for your kindness and artistic eye. Yet, there is a cautionary note – pay special attention to your health this year and do not delay in getting medical attention for minor illnesses. Additionally, pay special attention to driving safely this year.

Year of the Monkey

MONKEY – 1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004, 2016, 2028

Versatile Monkeys use their lively, clever, and ambitious personalities to their advantage. They can do most things well, and no challenge is too great for them. As a result, they can be arrogant. However, they view everyone as a teacher and are willing to listen to critique and learn from their mistakes. Your good friends are the Dragon and Rat.

People born in the Year of the Monkey can expect many opportunities to grow in 2026. They will have the chance to turn their ambitions into reality. Their career prospects look positive, and an auspicious omen of ‘rising to nobility’ bodes well. The ‘Traveling Horse” star predicts lots of travel this year. Focus is key for you this year and adaptability is your greatest strength. If you stay grounded amid the buzz, you’ll turn spontaneous inspiration into real success and rewarding results. Note that any financial loss can help avert a greater trouble. Stay calm, avoid acting on impulse, and strive to be modest and patient – not Monkey’s greatest quality.

Year of the Rooster

ROOSTER – 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017, 2029

The Rooster is a talkative perfectionist who is known for directness and hard work. They need to keep their emotions in check, especially around other Roosters. They also have a need for loved ones to validate and encourage them. Your compatible signs are the Snake, Ox, and Dragon.

People born in the Year of the Rooster will face several challenges in 2026 because their sign is opposed to the Horse, but there are also auspicious stars shining on you. Hence, you will experience joyful events and success in both reputation and fortune. However avoid troublemakers and stay away from environments prone to gossip or conflict. Men should be careful about romantic entanglements that could lead to financial loss and/or emotional distress. Your natural discipline and attention to detail will serve you well, but the Fire Horse asks for more flexibility, so be open to changing routines and trying new methods. Stay adaptable, and you’ll build strong foundations for future growth and recognition.

Year of the Dog

DOG – 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018, 2030

Dogs are loyal and likable, intelligent, and morally sound. They are diplomatic in all their dealings, but if that fails, you may get to see their lovely teeth. Dogs are not materialistic but always provide for their loved ones. Dogs are compatible with the Horse, Rabbit, and Tiger and also part of the compatible trio with the Horse and Tiger.

People born in the Year of the Dog are expected to make significant breakthroughs in 2026. They are likely to experience a financially successful year and receive good news across most areas of life. The Fire Horse highlights your dependability and leadership, helping you earn respect and trust. You may be asked to guide or support others, and say yes to that. But also make space for yourself as there may be hidden challenges. Potential instability and disagreements at home or unexpected health issues mixed with unprovoked conflicts with friends will all affect your mood. Although unexpected changes may arise, they’ll lead to positive outcomes if you stay flexible.

Year of the Pig

PIG – 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007, 2019, 2031

The intelligent, generous, and likable Pig is a pleasure seeker who is not opposed to hard work. Pigs seek universal harmony and sometimes can be overly generous or promise more than they can deliver. You are most compatible with Rabbits, Rams, and Tigers.

People born in the Year of the Pig can expect a more positive outlook in 2026 compared with the previous year. You are surrounded by auspicious stars that bring wealth, happiness, and blessings of all kinds, including benefactors allowing you to achieve more with less effort. In 2026, focus on family life and follow through on any unexpected health issues which may cause emotional ups and downs. So pace yourself, because fiery enthusiasm can burn out fast. Nurture your wellbeing and practice gratitude daily. This year supports joy, growth, and a deeper connection to your true purpose.

There are Three Kinds of Luck in Chinese Culture:

  • Heaven Luck which is your astrology, and cannot be changed as we cannot change the time, place, or family we were born into.
  • Earth Luck is where Feng Shui comes into play. Feng Shui can strengthen your luck by attracting auspicious energies and protect you by preventing negative energy from coming to you. Specific Feng Shui recommendations for your home and/or office will maximize your Year of the Fire Horse.
  • Manmade Luck is what we create through our social circles, education, good habits, self-improvement, meditation, etc.

Gung Hey Fat Choy

May this year infuse you with courage to take the necessary risks to enjoy your life to the fullest.
Wishing You the Blessings of
Health & Prosperity
