Spring Feng Shui Classes

Sacred Current banner logo

porch and flowersI am seeing more articles on ‘post-Covid life’ or ‘’life after Covid’. This is certainly what we all want to think about, however we are still in the midst of it, even as we emerge into spring.

The vitality of spring is so potent for my well being. Last month I mentioned a few things we can all do to bring the outside in.

crystal prism ballOne traditional feng shui adjustment that I don’t often mention and has so many applications is a clear, round cut crystal ball. Two of the ways I think they are most effective (assuming they work for my client’s decor) are either in the center of a room or in a window.

The center of a bedroom or of an entire house is the Tai Chi or health sector on the bagua. The light from the sun changes speed as it moves through the crystal causing it to be refracted and splitting into the colors of the spectrum. In a similar way, energy or chi is more healthfully balanced when a crystal is suspended in the middle of the ceiling.

A more common way to use a crystal is in a window when it is in alignment with a door – especially the front door. I this case, we want to slow the chi down so that it doesn’t move too quickly. When the chi of a room is balanced it is neither stagnant or moving too quickly. When the front door and a window are alignment opportunities can be lost (literally fly out the window) if the chi doesn’t slow down.

Feng Shui living roomNew Feng Shui Master Class

Last fall, Jane Margolies took my Feng Shui Master Class and wrote in an article when she says,”Fortunately, Ms. Wendell, a consultant for more than two decades, was empathetic, calm and, above all, pragmatic. She was fully aware that most of us cannot renovate our problems away and have to make the best of the flawed spaces we live in, fighting doors included.”

She continued with, “Each class began with a meditation exercise, intended to sharpen our awareness of our surroundings. From there, Ms. Wendell moved on to topics such as the five elements (water, wood, fire, earth, metal) and showed us photos and diagrams of landscapes, houses and rooms, pointing out arrangements that adhered to the tenets of feng shui and the “adjustments” that could be employed where spaces fell short. In between there were textbook readings and homework assignments, such as drawing up a floor plan of our bedroom — the most important room in a home, according to feng shui — and identifying the zones of each corner.” Click here for the full article

feng shui for the 21st centuryHere is a brief description of our course material:

Week 1: Introduction to Feng Shui:

In the first session, you’ll learn that the roots of Feng Shui are deep and that the basic premise of living in harmony with nature and the cosmos is found in every ancient culture. I’ll teach you how to use the bagua which is the basic tool or template of Feng Shui.

Week 2: The Five Elements

In this session, you’ll learn about the 5 Elements (also known as the Agents of Change) and how each is associated with qualities, colors, shapes and materials that will allow you to translate a Feng Shui analysis into good design. You will also learn a basic principle of Feng Shui known as the “command position” which is critical for setting up important rooms – especially bedrooms, offices, etc

Week 3: Method of Minor Additions

In session three, I will teach you “The Method of Minor Additions”, which will allow you to experience the power of Feng Shui adjustments and their importance to the practice.
You will also learn how the bagua is applied to irregular floor plans.

Week 4: Site & Architectural Factors in Feng Shui

Feng Shui addresses many aspects of a site. In session four, you will learn how these influence the interior of an environment and what various architectural features mean.

Week 5: Interiors

In the last session, we will put it all together and analyze many spaces (such as bedroom, kitchen and office) to see how to correct and optimize their Feng Shui
