Independence defined by Webster’s dictionary is the state or quality of being independent; freedom from dependence; exemption from reliance on, or control by, others; self-subsistence or maintenance; direction of one’s own affairs without interference

Independence should induce the freedom to pursue:

Independence isn’t necessarily a virtue because there is nothing wrong with depending on others or fitting into a system if that system is reasonable. We need to depend on others as long as that dependence is healthy and balanced.
