Energetically the Autumn Equinox is a time of balance and pause, a transitional moment between the bright half of the year and the dark half. It is a time of both the physical harvest of food and the energetic harvest of the fruits of our spiritual labor.

Things coming to fruition, celebration, children, communication, creativity and so much more relate to the West or Tui (Dui) sector in Feng Shui.

Here are a few other associations with this area of the bagua which is located at the mid-lefthand side of a room, home or office:

Quality – Joyful, reflective
Element – Metal
Direction. – West
Season. – Autumn
Nature. – Lake
Characteristics – Creative, congenial, harvest
Material things – Decorative metals, jewelry, mirror
Shape – Round
Color – White, gray, gold, silver

I am not one for generic advice as every environment and client is unique – there is no ‘one size fits all” in feng shui. But with that said, where appropriate a mirror, pictures of the kids, autumn symbols, metal objects, black and white photos, and things you want to actualize, can be displayed in this sector. btw, completed projects or those you want to come to fruition should be put on the right hand side of your desk (which is the Tui sector there).

The cooler weather it is a great time of year to connect with the earth. I am inclined to pick up beautifully colored leaves as I walk. Creating a nature mandala is a simple and satisfying fall ritual of mine. I organize collections of leaves, sticks, stones, berries, nuts, and other foraged finds, which I place meditatively and leave in a natural place.

Fall suggests a time to seek equilibrium – pause between summer’s activity and winter’s stillness. Perhaps take a moment to reflect on the past year and consider expressing gratitude for the abundance in your life, as a way of acknowledging your inner harvest.

I am grateful for whatever bought you here & our connection.
I hope you enjoy a beautiful season.
