Nothing says spring like throwing off winter (coats, boots and all) and experiencing the fresh air, flowers and light. Traditional spring cleaning is great, however clearing the emotional and psychic ‘dust’ of the dark winter season is truly inspiring.
Our built environment is our ‘outer body’ so to speak. So just like the physical body which is a product of the food we eat, the thoughts we think, etc…our homes and offices are affected by who comes in and out, the furnishings we have and how the space is used or not. Our environments are also affected by ‘predecessor chi’ which is an accumulation of all those that have inhabited the space since it was built (or last cleared). This may also incudes the land it is built on.
When I dowse an environment (using dowsing rods and a pendulum), I ask questions about the predecessor chi and I’ve had a numerous findings confirmed. One example was ‘recognizing’ that a completely empty basement was ‘crowded’. This was not something I physically could see, but rather sensed. When this was reported to the owner of the house, she said that in fact her home was recorded as a stop on the underground railroad, and that many people stayed in the basement during that time.
I offer this example to illustrate that the past has a way of leaving an energetic impression on a space. I have also done hundreds of clearing/blessing rituals for people who have lived in their homes for many years and afterward felt like they knew their home for the first time (and in a way they did not expect).
I am very grateful for the following words of support from the renowned designer Clodagh.
“A huge grateful hug for all that you have done for us.
Your emergency Feng Shui on Jackson Park was the foundation of the success
of the three towers and you can quote me on that.” Love Clodagh
Clodagh was referring to a clearing ritual at a ground up project in Long Island City, New York. I have more stories I’ll share in the future. I’d like to tell you what a clearing/blessing ritual entails. Call or write and I’ll walk you through the details.
The springtime is represented by the Yin WOOD Element or ‘young wood’, ‘new beginnings’ and ‘family’ on the Feng Shui bagua. Some other associations are the following:
Quality: Excited, planning, vital
Direction: East
Natural Phenomenon: Thunder
Characteristics: Expansiveness, stimulating
Material: Vertical furniture, plants
Shape: Rectangular
Color: Light green
The chi of new Wood is flexibility and vital energy…like early Spring.
- In a person, if this energy is out of balance they may be very good at coming up with lots of new ideas or plans but lack the discipline to focus and see them through.
- On the other end of the spectrum, if new Wood is out of balance it can mean someone is indecisive….like tall grass bending in the wind.
Wood Element can be adjusted in an environment depending what is needed for family relations, starting projects, or for the chi of an individual. I shared a personal chi adjustment for Wood last spring. You can reference it here.
Along with the seasons, our 9 STAR KI or Feng Shui numerology changes each year. I find this system a very accurate indictor of the year’s predictions for myself and my clients.
I include a 9 Star Ki reading with my Feng Shui consultations as well as offer them individually on Zoom. Please LMK if you are interested in a reading. They last about 45 -60 minutes and the fee is $120.
May vitality abound in and around you.
For those celebrating, Happy Passover & Easter
