Weather

Today’s Nor’easter will dump more snow on Washington, Philadelphia and New York City than the three earlier storms combined. More than 70 million people are under a winter storm watch, warning or advisory from the southern Appalachians to Boston.

Harmony

Although we can’t change Mother Nature we can sure be a lot nicer to her! Feng Shui is about living in harmony with, and respecting our environment. When we are faced with adversity personally, we can also treat ourselves more kindly.

Adapting

I am reminded of Amy Purdy who began snowboarding 7 months after receiving her prosthetic legs and a year after her amputations. In 2014, Amy – the only competitor, male or female, with two prosthetic legs – claimed a bronze medal for the U.S. Paralympic team in adaptive snowboarding. Oh and Amy’s take on the weather, “Of course, there are benefits to having prosthetics…I can wear flip-flops in the snow if I wanted to.”

Environment or Situation

Feng Shui is about understanding the possibilities and limitations of an environment or situation, accepting it and making it better. This course is designed to take place over five sessions and includes a blend of lecture, reflection, application, assessment, and Q&A to enhance learning and retention. Each session consists of 30 minutes of flipped learning time (reading assignments, etc.) using the book “Feng Shui for the 21st Century” as reference material. In addition, each session includes 90 minutes of classroom time for a total 10 hours.
The course includes:
  • A copy of my book “Feng Shui for the 21st Century”
    (featured left) to supplement the course.
  • Five 90-minutes live online training sessions (one per week).
  • Individual support during the 5 online sessions.
  • Time to reflect on, interact with, and apply the principles taught.
  • The ability to review each session.
  • 10 IDCEC- and AIA-approved Continuing Education Credits.
  • A framable certificate of completion.
