Spring made a sneak preview in NYC last week and promptly retreated behind freezing temps. I long for this time of year when the axis of the earth increases its tilt toward the sun, and the warming northern hemisphere causes new plant growth to “spring forth,” giving the season its name. For me the emerging springtime is restorative and the perfect time to introduce my expanded approach to feng shui – what I am calling “Restorative Feng Shui”(c).
This past year has certainly had silver linings for some, but we all can agree that the year has taken its toll in ways large and small. Although we are not out of the woods, there is a clearing in the distance and it is a time for restoration.
Health, vitality, and a feeling of well-being is what we all need and want. This is what Restorative Feng Shui offers: alleviating stress, refreshing your environment, rejuvenating your relationships, recouping energy, optimizing advantages and minimizing the less desirable aspects of our lives and environments (that no one can avoid).
Before agreeing to a consultation, I ask a potential client why they want one. Everything is completely confidential and the more specific someone is, the better I am able to tell them what I can offer. An individual may be frustrated in their relationship (or lack of one), be at an impasse in designing their home, or have concerns with work and finances. Families often need to create a more organized and harmonious abode. A business may be interested in improving revenue, employee/client relations, or their reputation. Everyone is interested in well-being and wants their environment to be supportive, safe and thriving.
Restorative Feng Shui is not so much a new direction but an expanded approach to creating the intrinsic happiness people need to experience in their lives, homes and work spaces. As this year has underscored that our homes need to be both sanctuaries and productive work environments.
This is the perfect time for Clearing/Blessing Rituals and Restorative Feng Shui. If you like to find out more, I’d be happy to set up a call.
In the meantime, some simply ways to refresh yourself and your surroundings are;
- Leave your house in a different direction today
- Take all the ‘extras’ away from your front door (I.e. winter boots, hats, gloves, recycle, etc)
- Bring fresh flowers into your home or office
- Do one thing you have been avoiding doing (perhaps clearing your desk?)
- Call that person who crossed your mind
- Throw away 3 or 9 things a day (you know like that pen or makeup you never use)
- Check that all your art is hanging straight
- Perhaps a book shelf can be lightened up (are you really ever going to read that one again?)
- Crack open windows and get those healthy negative ions into your lungs
Spring gives us a chance to change our lives for the better, breathe easier, enjoy the ‘waking up’ of nature, and welcome new energy into our lives. Remember everything is alive and changing – E=MC2. One change can influence everything.
Wishing a Warm and Vital Spring
