Traditional Chinese Medicine
As many of us know Feng Shui shares a similar philosophy to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). They both recognize the need for balanced chi whether in the environment or the body. Both appreciate the influence of the seasons – the actual seasonal changes and the 5 Elements.
Spring is the time of the Wood Element. Wood represents family, how we start things, the hip, foot, liver, gallbladder, fortunate blessings and wealth, to name a few of its meanings on the bagua or Feng Shui template.
My integrative approach to Feng Shui, combines the most vital aspects of Black Sect Tibetan (BTB) Feng Shui, Form School and Flying Star Feng Shui, as they each apply to an environment. I couple that assessment with the taste, style and budget of my clients. Often a client needs a personal chi adjustment as well. BTB Feng Shui offers many transcendental adjustments for both the environment and the person.
Wood Chi
In the next few newsletters, I would like to offer a personal chi adjustment for the season. If it may be of benefit to you, please give it a try.
As we’re now in the Wood season or springtime, we’ll start there.
- If Wood element is weak in a person, they may have few opinions, and are easily swayed this way and that…like tall grass in the wind.
- If Wood element is too dominate in a person they may be stubborn, opinionated, judgmental, or do not even listen to others.
- When Wood is in balance, a person listens and thinks before accepting or rejecting an idea, accepts different opinions and chooses rationally.
Whether to too weak or too dominate the following transitional adjustment helps to balance your Wood chi:
Start by getting three very healthy green plants.
- Place one plant in the entry of your home, one in the living room and one in your bedroom.
- Rotate them every 3 days for 27 days so that they are each moved 9 times
- .At the end of the 27 days leave them where they are.
- If a plants dies or is unhealthy replaced it with a better one and start the ritual from the beginning.
- Of course water them as needed and each time they are moved hold the intention that your Wood chi comes into balance.
As I focus on the inner and outer Feng Shui of the individual,
I am often reminded of the words of Mahatma Gandhi.
“We but mirror the world. All the tendencies present in the outer world are to be found in the world of our body. If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him. This is the divine mystery supreme. A wonderful thing it is and the source of our happiness. We need not wait to see what others do.”
Whether you are celebrating
Easter, Passover, Ramadan, nothing or everything…
May this season of ‘new beginnings’ support your happiness, well being
and that of our world.
With prayers for the Ukraine.
