Year of the Earth PIG – Lunar New Year

Year of the Earth Pig

The LUNAR New Year is Feb 5th.  I will be back in touch next week with information on each of the zodiac animals, but here are a few things to start considering for the Year of the Earth Pig.
Ancient lore says, Buddha invited all of the animals in the world to join him for the New Year celebration, but only 12 animals bothered to turn up. As a great reward, Buddha named a year after each one of them and they and they run in the order that the animals arrived to celebrate with Buddha – starting with the Rat and ending with the last guest, the Pig.  Thus, this year completes the full rotation of the 12 zodiac signs.
For those of us less familiar with the Chinese zodiac, it is made up of the 12 animal signs and 5 elements, comprising a 60 year cycle. This calendar of ‘stems’ (animals) and ‘branches’ (elements) begins on the second New Moon of the Winter Solstice.
One of the best ways to prepare for the New Year is to literally clean house.  Sweeping out all of last year’s unneccessary karma is what we want to do.  In addition, paying outstanding bills, completing communications, repairing broken items, all bode well going Ito the New Year.
In 2019, the Earth Yin Pig seeks Universal Harmony so we can take heart in knowing that this year is lead by an honest, kind and reasonable creature.  Yet, this year’s Earth Pig is incompatible to its natural element – Water. Water is commonly associated with emotions and intuitions.  In general, the Yin Earth Pig, with Earth on top and Water below, is symbol of peace and relaxation on the outside with under currents of danger, unrest and deception inside.  This there will still be conflict and disharmony in international relationships and unfortunately natural and environmental disasters will also prevail.

The Pig is in ‘3 harmony’ with the Rabbit and Ram.  These 3 signs strive for beauty and are intellectual and philosophical in their calm approach to life.  Yet the Pig’s best friend is the Tiger.  Thus it is the Tiger charm that most of us should carry to keep the Pig happy.  Only the Snake and Monkey, who are not great friends with either the Pig or the Tiger, should carry both the Rabbit and Ram to help appease the Pig and protect their fortunes.
A 3-dimensional Tiger, Rabbit or Ram (the luck animals for the year depending on your year of birth) can be acquired through Sacred Currents.  Again all signs do well to carry a TIGER other then the Monkey and Snake, who should carry both a RAM and RABBIT.

If having a yearly talisman interests you, please send $9 for each animal ordered and $6 for priority postage (regardless of the number of animals you order.)
